  • Alessandro's Webpage - I worked with Alessandro in Somalia. He is also a photographer. Here is an excellent photo webpage.
  • CEILA - This is the school where I am learning French. C'est l'ecole où j'apprends le français.
  • MSF Canada - For more info about MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières, or Doctors Without Borders), visit the Canada site. (Or the international site, www.msf.org).
  • Never Ending Struggle - I visited a refugee camp in northern Kenya holding close to 200,000 people. I wrote this article about it.
  • Paris Studios - I had a wonderful stay in Paris, with many thanks to Claude and Violaine and their studio. Claude is very friendly, and offered just the right studio for my stay. As well, he supplied much useful and appropriate information how to get there, (which trains from the airport, etc) and local restaurants, shops, food stores and bars. Paris is expensive, however with this studio right in the middle of town, one can walk to the Louvre, step outside the front door for dinner, or whatever. (Thus saving lots of time, moeny and trouble on trains, taxis, buses, etc.) If you are planning a stay in Paris, check out the website, and feel free to ask me questions about it. I highly recommend their service.
  • The One-Tonne Challenge - The One-Tonne Challenge calls on every citizen in the industrialized world: to reduce your carbon dioxide emissions by one ton or more in a year. The goal is to bring global warming under control by curtailing the release of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping "greenhouse" gases into the atmosphere. Our individual efforts are especially significant in countries like the US and Canada, where individuals release 10,000 pounds of carbon dioxide per person every year. It sounds like a lot. But as you will see, reducing global warming is within our reach. Check out this website. I was surprised at some of the simple things we can do to reduce much waste.
  • Trevor's Webpage - Trevor is one of my best friends. I've known him through skule years, working years, not working years, good times and bad. He is my favourite singer/songwriter. His heart knows no limits, and his mind is just so damn smart. If you make the opportunity to meet him, (through gigs or festivals) you won't regret. Here is his webpage.
  • Waris Dirie Foundation - Waris Dirie grew up in Somalia and escaped an arranged marriage to a man of her father's choice. She has written books about her life, leaving Somalia, becoming a supermodel, and now advocating against the practice of female genital mutilation FGM. The UN estimates 6000 girls are victims of this crime daily. I have read two of her books, and suggest them to anyone interested in learning more about this inhumane act in the world. Also, I believe her foundation is a very worthy one to support.
