transpixel The first village I worked in, Lankien.  The large path on the bottom is the airstrip.  Our compounds are on either side of the main path leading from the airstrip.  You can see out huts are the larger ones with the white plastic on the very top.  Across the main 'road' was another NGO, and the local authority compound.  The main market place is the three rows of huts in the upper left of the picture.  To go to the next village, one must walk approximately 3 hours along the path leading from the upper right. transpixel

transpixel Shower and papaya tree.  This was the best papaya tree in the compound.  It produced a papaya every day or two for a two week harvest.  Locating plants near water run-offs is great for absorbing water and supplying great fruits. transpixel
