I was working in Galcayo, Puntland, Somalia, with MSF from Jan to June 2005. Here are some photos to give an idea, and the journal entries can tell some more.

While I was working in Danané, I got to know a group called the Association of Physically Handicap People of Danané (or Association Personnes Handicapée Physique de Danané, APHPD.) This is a non-profit association formed to assist those in Danané that are physically handicapped and are in need of help. They interested me very much, because they are mostly looking for assistance in materials, tools and other means such that they can sustain themselves. Through my time in Danané I saw some of their initiatives, including farms, barber shops, hair-dressers, motorcycle repair shop, wood-carving and drum making shop, etc. In my last days in Danané I visited the beginnings of a fish farm too.

I worked with MSF in the Danane Health Care Program (centred in Danane hospital, but with mobile clinics as well.) I will be adding more photos shortly.
